What Is Right and Wrong? No. 1 Godly Value: Human Rule Under Creator’s Reign

Introduction

How do people determine the best standard of morality? What is the best way to answer the question: What is right and wrong? No. 1 godly value: Human rule under Creator’s reign.

Individual Reign in One’s Sphere of Influence

Genesis 1 clearly declares the Creator’s desire for people to reign on Earth in His place (Genesis 1:26-28). He intended this for the pursuit of each person’s purpose. Together and individually He wants us to reign in life through God’s Anointed One (Romans 5:17).

People were not to reign over other people. Each of us is to serve others through leading or managing group interactions or projects. One’s purpose or assignment is given by the Master. Care must be given to weaker peoples – widows, orphans, strangers among us. This is highly valued by Yahweh.

How to Rule

First, we must agree with God’s truth, however much against common sense it appears to be. Next, we must confess/ speak the King’s will and act on that truth and will. To me, “faith” is a churchy word without clear meaning. Better to talk about trust and obedience.

Abraham’s Trust and Obedience

The first patriarch received Yahweh’s instruction to leave his idolatrous family and society and go somewhere he knew little about. Abraham obeyed, mostly, that instruction. He took his nephew Lot with him.

He received Yahweh’s promise of innumerable offspring. Abraham believed, despite a total lack of evidence. Sarah was barren until well past the age of childbearing. That belief put him in right standing with Yahweh (Genesis 15:6).

Abraham received the instruction to sacrifice his son to Yahweh. He declared to his servants that Isaac would return with him from worship of Yahweh. He obeyed the instruction to place his son on the altar. Then he obeyed the instruction to stop before delivering the actual death blow (Genesis 22:1-19).

David’s Trust and Obedience

The shepherd lad took offense at Goliath’s mockery of Israel’s army. He heard the giant’s boast of feeding David’s body to birds and wild animals. He declared that Yahweh would help him cut off the giant’s head. Then, he proceeded to do just that (1 Sam 17:1-51). David went on to rule Israel by Yahweh’s Spirit.

Apostles’ Trust and Obedience

Peter and John healed the lame man at the gate Beautiful. They went on to declare the power of the name of the risen Anointed One.

Peter preached to Gentiles, despite the cultural, even scriptural, prohibition against associating with such people. This started the spread of the Good News to all the peoples of the world.

Paul and Barnabas took Good News to the Gentiles. They planted governing assemblies (ecclesias) of King Jesus in every major city around the Great Sea. Paul wrote about trusting in Spirit and obeying His instructions.

King Jesus Is Instructing His People to Trust His Word and Will Today

Believers are following the movement of His Spirit to gather in small, intimate groups for personal growth, to learn His Word deeply and accurately, to speak His truth and rule in their lives.

King Jesus is calling His people to work together to bring His Kingdom into their spheres of influence, to enter into and rule in the Seven Mountains of society, to live in neighborhoods and bring His Kingdom to those locations.
