Alone, But in Hope of Brothers

Alone for the Holidays

Last December, as the holidays progressed, I faced Christmas alone. I felt the need for others, companions with whom to share the joys of the season, brothers with whom to share the life God had given me. This led me to a rare expression through poetry.

Alone, But In Hope
Alone. So alone.
Going ahead, toward better understanding and knowledge
of how to walk in the Kingdom.
Leaving behind family, friends, wives
mired as they are in the foundational truths
of Church maternity wards and nurseries.
Pressing onward toward the upward calling of God.
Seeking true worshippers, true kings, true citizens in ecclesia.
Seeking comrades - brothers in the battles of life.
Warriors out to confront the Enemy in godly armor.
Seeking flint-faced guardians, not agreeable yes-men.
Soldiers who bring Freedom, speaking Truth.
Come household with me.
Gather in harmony with me.
Let God place your lonely hearts with mine.
In His family - His Temple of the Spirit.

Answers to My Heart’s Cry

Yahweh has answered this cry of my heart. He has started to “set the lonely in families” (Psalm 68:6).

In my quest for better marketing of my books and speaking gigs, I came across brandfacestar.com. These introduced me to Ignite Kingdom Christian Business. This brought me to a small group of businessmen who meet weekly. They share what God is doing with each of them and to pray over their businesses.

God also led me to the Christian Community Development Association (CCDA). This is a nation-wide group with the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) philosophy I have come to value. Through classes in their Philosophy and Community, I have connected with practitioners who share my vision for neighborhood improvement.

Finally, one CCDA member introduced me to Community Weavers, who told me about Sidewalk Talks, Villageco, and Open Space Technology.

I have found like-minded people who can guide me in my efforts to reach out to my neighbors and start neighborhood improvements efforts on my street. I pray God He will gather us into one or two microchurches in neighborhood homes.
