Foundational Teaching about the Kingdom

Basic Teaching about the Kingdom

In this video, Dr. Myles Munroe of munroeglobal.com explained his foundational teaching about the Kingdom of God vs. the religion of Christianity.

Learning My Purpose

A few years ago, my new wife brought into the household a book on leadership by Dr. Munroe. It had a chapter on purpose that captured my mind. The chapter clarified for me the idea that God had created me to speak to poor people about getting out of poverty God’s way. It also started renewing my mind about

  • Kingdom vs religion
  • heavenly colonies in conquered Earth
  • ecclesia vs church
  • God’s viceroys on Earth
  • and the rightness of Kingdom health, wealth, and prosperity.

Important Comments

I have given here the timestamps of points and statements I found particularly important.

3:09  Christianity is a religion.

5:05  Religion is the worship of a deity through a set of beliefs expressed through a set of rituals, customs, and rites producing a sectarian distinction and group.  (The sense of being different produces conflict.)

10:25 A kingdom is not a religion.

10:35 Jesus never introduced a religion to Earth.

13:20 The #1 opposition to Jesus came from religious leaders.

11:05 A kingdom is a country governed by a king with all the components of a nation.

Further Points Made

  1. The theology of the 20th and 21st centuries is not the principle theology of the Bible.
  2. The Kingdom concept is the foundation of all Scripture revelation.
  3. The Kingdom concept is necessary for the correct interpretation and application of Scripture.
  4. Kingdom concepts are the main subject throughout Scripture and provide the foundation for understanding the motivation, purpose, plans, promises, and actions of God.
  5. Without Kingdom concepts, biblical understanding and theology are defective.

1:04:30 The devil knows that if you ever capture the Kingdom message, he can never control you again.

Questions

Are you a Christian or are you a citizen of God’s Kingdom? There is a difference. The one will bring you the benefits of citizenship; the other will hold you in bondage to powerless sentimentality and government control.
