SALVATION IS OF THE JEWS

“Salvation is of the Jews.”

Rabbi Yeshua (Salvation) ben Yoseph of the Jewish town of Nazareth led his rag-tag gang of apprentices (and a few women) – not the long way around the despised country of Samaria to Capernaum – but straight north from Jerusalem. They stopped at the well outside of Shechem. The rabbi sent his followers into the town to get food while he sat and rested.

After a time, a lone woman came to draw water. He asked her for a drink – her, a Samaritan and a woman alone. She embodied two types of people that Jews, especially rabbis, struggled to avoid lest they be contaminated.

When he revealed knowledge of her…ahem…marital status, she attempted a religious debate, saying her people could worship God in Samaria as well as the Jews did in Jerusalem. Yeshua replied with those words, “Salvation is of the Jews.”

God’s Plan of Rescue

He meant that God’s plan for rescuing – salvaging – the people of Earth was proceeding through His chosen, covenant people. Himself a Jew, Yeshua had been declaring and demonstrating God’s Kingdom to those covenant people. He would end up sacrificing His flawless life to cover all the rebellion of all of Humanity of all time.

Today, with the United States stumbling down the road to Hell, God’s covenant people will again be the means of rescue and the salvaging of society. Solutions to our many problems will come from God’s covenant people. Kingdom solutions from God’s Holy Spirit will come through believer-doers, those who trust and obey Him.

We are, after all, His viceroys on Earth. We are His Kingdom colonists, His ecclesia, His governing body of citizens, called out to do the political work of bringing His Kingdom into this conquered world.

God’s people wrongly often despise Jews, through whom Salvation came. Christians call themselves “the Church” – a religious institution that works to get people saved and ready to live in Heaven. Their teachers teach the need for the filling of God’s Spirit and using prayer languages. They urge basking in the Spirit’s presence and being freed from deep bondages. They persuade their listeners to speak and claim health, wealth, and well-being.

Get Beyond Foundational Truths NOW

These truths must be shared and demonstrated before society. However, they are foundational, not the visible upper floors of God’s Temple. The solutions to society’s problems are not to be the work of King Jesus at His return. Those solutions are to come from His colonies of Kingdom citizens, working to bring Kingdom culture to society. It is the political work of ecclesias, governing bodies – not religious organizations.

In proclaiming the Kingdom, Yeshua instructed, “Change your thinking about what the Kingdom is supposed to be like. God is doing new things.” Salvation and going to Heaven; being filled with Holy Spirit and praying in the Spirit; calling for and walking in Heaven’s health, wealth, and well-being are all foundational truths, like mother’s milk for all believers. Mature believers are to get on with the grand work of building ecclesias to bring the Kingdom into the Earth’s conquered nations and invading the Seven Mountains of influence in society.

Deliverance of Poor People from the Bondage of Poverty

One area in which God’s people could do so much better is the deliverance of poor people from the bondage of poverty. Giving handouts meets an immediate need for some of these. For others, handouts merely enable them to continue mooching off the charity of others and the “beer and barley loaves” of an Egypt-like government. Jews as a people know better. God works financial salvation through them as they follow His laws.

My book, From Economic Bondage to the Promised Land of Prosperity, parallels Israel’s deliverance from Egypt with poor people’s deliverance from poverty.

Jehovah Jireh wants to

  • deliver them,
  • destroy their enemies,
  • establish His Kingdom in their lives,
  • empower them for the work He would give them, and
  • send them into the Promised Land of Prosperity to bring about His Kingdom.
