No Fear of Cancer

Introduction

In my previous post, I announced that doctors saw increased levels of certain proteins in my blood work and said that I have one or another form of cancer. Further tests will determine which form plagues my body. I also stated that while I accept that the doctor says it’s there, I reject the right of such disease to be in my body. Maybe I have not seen the terrible effects of cancer in people around me. Maybe I simply trust in King Jesus to bring healing to my body. He is with me and will heal me by His Holy Spirit. In any case, I have no fear of cancer.

Many Bible Verses about Healing

Over the several decades of my following Jesus, I have been familiar with many Bible verses about healing.

But he was pierced for our transgressions,

    he was crushed for our iniquities;

the punishment that brought us peace was on him,

and by his wounds we are healed.

  • The many stories in the different renditions of the Good News of Jesus healing people.
  • Jesus instructing His followers to continue that work.
  • Many stories in Acts in which people were healed.
  • Paul writing about spiritual works of healing.
  • Peter quoting Isaiah 53:5 as if the promise continues.
  • Many modern stories of Jesus healing people.

Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)

This modern praise song especially speaks to my heart and mind. I’m facing a Great Unknown adventure(?) and a campaign of spiritual warfare. I have always liked this song’s attitude of trust and obedience.

Spirit, lead me where my trust is without borders

Let me walk upon the waters

Wherever You would call me.

Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander

And my faith will be made stronger

In the presence of my Saviour

Transportation and Support Issues

My immediate issues have to do with the logistics of travel and with local spiritual/ emotional support. Not having a car, I require the transit bus or ride service transportation, unless someone comes alongside to give me rides. I could also use the support of local relatives and friends.

In any case, I have no fear of cancer.
