Appeal for Fellowship

Introduction

Anyone who has been following my blog posts knows that I have an unorthodox, irreligious understanding of the Bible and the rulership of King Jesus. Of course, this makes “true believers” uncomfortable. It gives offense to orthodox, church- going Christians. I am looking for believers out there who also are dissatisfied with church and mere Christian religion. I am making an appeal for fellowship and moving in what God is doing today.

Seeking Small Group Worship

I am unhappy with “temple”- based church services. As much as I enjoy singing praise songs and giving thanks to God Almighty, I don’t want an hours- long performance ritual. I don’t want some preacher or teacher to exhort me – and everyone else – how to live better lives as a Christian. I want to meet with a few people in someone’s home.

I want us to sing a few praise songs, give thanks, and offer our bodies as living sacrifices. Then, I want us to either study – comment together – on a passage of Scripture or to bring up problem situations or projects in individuals’ lives. Or we could

  • bring up situations (confession)
  • study the Bible to see what Holy Spirit wants to tell us about it (Bible study)
  • declare God’s truth and will (prayer)
  • and work to solve the problem God’s way (ministry).

Viceroys Working to Bring Eden Back to Earth

Relevant situations could be anything from someone’s health issues to the President’s foreign affairs policies. As the Creator’s viceroys on Earth, as a governing body of believers in King Jesus, our group would have the authority to declare and work for His will.

Ultimately, God’s people are supposed to be building His Kingdom on Earth. He wants to work through us to return all of Earth to the conditions that existed in Eden:

  • provision of resources needed
  • protection from wild animals and people, those who would steal, kill, and destroy
  • robust health of body, mind, and soul
  • the acceptance of people’s foibles that allows for naked vulnerability to close friends and family.

People would seek His wisdom rather than rely on one’s own moral judgment to handle situations.

Building Kingdom through Community Development

I can think of no better way to build the Kingdom than through a group of believers working at community development in some neighborhood. I have a vision for ecclesia gatherings at several levels of jurisdiction. Jesus said He would be present anywhere two or three people gather in His name. They would have the keys to His Kingdom. Anything they asked for, trusting and obeying Him, would be granted.

Yahweh called Abram to leave His family and home country to go to a land unknown to the man. So, King Jesus would call a community of believers to leave the comfort of their hometown and move to a neighborhood of His choice. This would fulfill the first principle of the Christian Community Development Association, Relocation. These believers would live with the conditions of that neighborhood and bring Kingdom solutions to many problems.

These believers would work to bring about CCDA’s Reconciliation

  • between individuals and God Almighty
  • between individuals and those who wronged them
  • between ethnic groups suspicious of or hostile toward each other.

These believers would befriend neighbors and work to determine how they want to improve their neighborhood.

Given the principle of acceptance of people’s foibles, this would prohibit forcing unwanted changes on neighbors. Believers would have to work through ecclesia and call on Holy Spirit to move in the hearts and minds of the people involved. He has ways of changing people’s hearts and minds to bring about the Kingdom His way.

Illustrative Novels and Courses in the Works

I have completed the writing of three of four Gathering of Misfits novels that illustrate my vision for community development. To show the principle of acceptance of people’s foibles, I have given certain characters behaviors, past and present, that church- goers would find immoral, repugnant. I also depict those characters surrendering to the King and being transformed by the power of Holy Spirit.

I also have plans for creating two Skool communities to teach about Kingdom Community and about Heirs and Viceroys. These will teach my vision for those two biblical, Kingdom, essential truths.

Appeal for Fellowship

Again, I appeal to believers in King Jesus to meet with me in some form of small group. We will worship the King in Spirit and truth, open our hearts and lives to each other for intimate relationships and to support one another’s growth in knowing Jesus. We would study the Bible together to determine the King’s will for us and for the situations around us. Ultimately, I would have us living in community, bringing Kingdom solutions to the neighborhood where He places us. We would be disciples, growing other disciples, working for Eden on Earth.
