Introduction
In a recent broadcast, Lance Wallnau commented about President Biden’s performance during his debate with Donald Trump. Dr. Wallnau said Biden is “geriatric and incapable of governing” (9:55-10:05). With “geriatric” pertaining to being elderly, Lance doesn’t seem to realize that senility is not dementia.
Typical Confusion of Language

It is a principle of linguistics that meanings of words change with usage. The word “gay” used to mean “happy”. Today, it refers to a homosexual lifestyle. If the Flintstones still played their theme song, people would think that Barney lived with Fred and Wilma was with Betty.
The same confusion exists for the word “senile”. From the beginning, that word has meant elderly. The problem is that many older people lose their mental faculties; they become demented. So, people become confused over which word to use. Pre-senile dementia is not losing one’s mental abilities before losing one’s mind. Alzheimer’s Dementia is losing one’s mind before getting old.
President’s Dementia Isn’t Due to Age
President Biden isn’t showing symptoms of dementia because he’s geriatric. He’s only three years older than his opponent, 81 compared to Trump’s 78. It may be a question of the chicken or the egg, but I believe Biden is demented because his “thoughts have become complete nonsense, and [his] empty mind [is] filled with darkness.” (Romans 1:21).
